Nooks and Crannies Installation on Paper
Title: Midway
The installation was created through the use of paper cut outs. Midway is another method of exploration of remembering place, or specifically, the space created when humans place objects and interact with them. This creates specificity, a space becomes that shelf or a room becomes his room. I treat the installation as a larger than life two-dimensional drawing, collaging elements together to recreate spaces from my home.
The objects in the insatallation are drawn, printed, and cut out of paper. Paper is chosen as my primary surface because it is inherently a fragile material and must be taken care of so it is not damaged or destroyed. For me, this parallels the fragility of memory.
